When solid biblical churches show support of this music (by using it) they show support of the churches of these artists. We live in a technological age where every young person can quickly find out which band wrote a song, then find out that a band is associated with a church, and then listen to or watch all of that church's content. Basically, they can quickly be introduced to dangerous false teaching. Visit ourUNSOUNDpage for a list of songs and artists we believe we should avoid. It is our hope that these bands and artists will turn from false teaching and follow Christ. We'd love to see them on theCONTEMPORARYpage some day!
Bethel Music is a massive influence in the worship music world. Unfortunately, they are under false teaching from Bethel Church in Redding, CA. To find out more on this topic, check out thisblog post.
There are plenty of popular artists and bands that produce sound music. Head over to ourCONTEMPORARYpage for a list of great sounding sound options. It's important that we focus on worshipping our holy God with truth and not trend.
Absolutely. Though we've done our research, we are fallible and we welcome the input of others. Please give us a biblical reason why a band should or should not be approved on Sound in Worship. God's Word is our infallible standard and we would love to have a fruitful conversation with you about it! Visit ourCONTACTpage to reach out to us!
We had also. We use to sing our hearts out to Hillsong, Bethel and others. These artists are extremely talented and know how to invoke emotion through song. That doesn't take the blame away from us though. It is our duty to be diligent about knowing God's Word and to not just accept any source of worship music. We needed to turn from being lazy about worshipping God with music. We needed to study God's Word far more than we were. So, simply turn and listen to music that glorifies God and comes from sound sources, and don't be lazy like we surely were.
No. Sound in Worship is a place to find great worship music. We strongly believe this is necessary in order to operate with integrity. We do, however, encourage anyone to reach out and suggest new music for us to research and potentially add to the site.
